Back for another hopefully successful weekend. Here is what I like and will play in Germany:
3* Arminia Bielefeld pk -119 (Pinnacle)
It is no coincidence that Bielefeld is currently ranked 6th in the Bundesliga standings. Not being in the media's focus as much as many other teams, they have silently build a strong team that is playing attractive soccer almost every week. With a 4-2-1 record they are especially tough at home where they have already beaten Bayern Munich among others. They lost 3-0 at Bremen last week but that isn't a big deal as Bremen is probably the best team in the league right now.
On the other hand you have a Leverkusen club that seems to be in complete turmoil right now. They've been playing poorly for weeks and there are speculations that their coach may soon get fired.
I believe Bielefeld to bounce back this weekend and beat a struggling Leverkusen team at home. I see almost identical value between the home win (odds around +140) or the pick option. To provide a little more safety I will play the latter, as we will push in the case of a draw.
1* 1. FC Nürnberg Draw +235 (Betfair)
I believe this to be a game where both teams are pretty evenly matched under the circumstances and will be satisfied with a draw.
Just like Stuttgart a couple of weeks ago, Schalke may be in first place but they are not a first place team. They are undoubtedly one the better teams in the league but won't be able to seriously compete for the championship and will finish between 3rd and 5th at the end of the season. They've been inconsistent at times as they have already lost 3 of their 7 away games.
Nürnberg have been the kings of the draw this year with 9 draws in 14 league games. Even though they do no longer appear as strong as at the beginning of the season they are still very tough to beat, especially at home.
Nürnberg will be fine with a home draw against the first place team and I believe it'll be the same for a Schalke team that should be aware of the difficulty of this away match.
As with most of my early season draw bets I will however keep this to a 1* play.
3* Karlsruher SC -1 +100 (Pinnacle)
Karlsruhe is the most dominating team in Bundesliga 2 right now. That is especially true at home where they have a 5-2-0 record and should actually be 6-1-0 if they hadn't blown a 3 goal lead in the last 12 minutes of their last game. They have scored an average of over three goals in their 7 home games and are showing absolutely no signs of any letdown.
Aue is currenty in 6th place but they don't belong anywhere near. They are a mediocre team with a traditional weakness in away games that was concerned about avoiding relegation just a few weeks ago. They are currently on a 4 game win streak but don't be fooled by that as during those 4 games they took advantage of some very favourable circumstances. They don't have enough quality to compete with an outstanding Karlsruhe team and will be sent home with a loss.
2* Karlsruher SC Amateure over 2,5/3 +107 (Pinnacle)
Not only is both teams goal per game ratio over 3, but Stuttgart's ratio in away games is an astonishing 3,75. Stuttgart has played very well lately and with Hoffenheim showing weakness have not yet given up on the idea of promotion to Bundesliga 2. Karlsruhe are also always good for goals at home so I expect an offensive minded game that should see a minimum of 3 goals.
BOL to everyone!
